The World of Translation and Language Services

The Spanish Language
Spanish is spoken by 489 million people in 24 countries around the world, including the United States, which has the second largest Spanish speaking population after Mexico. This market well deserves dedicated specialized translation and language services, not only due to the high figure it represents, but also due to its inherent uniqueness. The Spanish language has its own country and regional variations, and differences can be so extreme that a certain word or phrase could take a completely different meaning depending on the geographical location, or even on the context it is used. For example, Argentina received a strong cultural influence from the Italian immigration that arrived in the early Twentieth Century, and this influence is notoriously reflected in its Spanish variation.

Specialized vs. Global Translation Services
When you hire a translation agency that offers global translation services in more than 100 languages, you are actually hiring independent translators and proofreaders who are temporarily outsourced by the agency to do the job for them, for a fraction of the cost. In most cases, their Project Managers do not even understand a project's target language, and therefore, they have no control over the overall service quality.
